Fundamental Forces

Closeup of geological design, strata and igneous dyke in earthy ochres, reds and blacks

Fundamental Forces

Description: An attractive design that also represents strata with a mineralised igneous dyke decorating a globular vase.

I am interested in geology, how our planet works and how landscape has been formed. I also enjoy linking two human activites often divided: science and art. Earthy blacks, reds and sand colour the setting ideally; strata beds in undulating synclines and anticlines compliment the spherical pot; on another face there is a faultline; here you see representation of the immemse and dramatic power of intrusive lava cutting through rocky stata, heating and mineralising the adjacent rocks.A special pot indeed. After all, pots,or shards of pots, unlike most of what we make, will survive geologically as human evidence long after humans.A symbol of much but, meanwhile, wonderfully visual and tactile: a desirable possession.
